 | | | VIEW IN BROWSER | | | | | | | | | | | THIS ISSUE: The Flash, Scream Queens, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Voice, The Mindy Project | | | | | | | The Flash Has Daddy Issues | | | The CW | | BECAUSE: Michael Ironside joined Tuesday's episode of The Flash as Lewis Snart and quickly took the title of Token Bad Guy. Playing the father to Lisa Snart, he unseated Joe as the show's most screwed-up dad when he put an explosive device in Lisa's head and conned his other child into coming to the dark side with him. | | | | | | | | | | Scream Queens | | | Fox | | WHAT HAPPENED: Things got real deadly in the sixth episode of Scream Queens, but, as EW recapper Amy Wilkinson writes, "There's no time to mourn when a game of truth or dare is afoot!" The Kappas said goodbye to Caulfield, Sam, and Roger all in Tuesday's installment, but had more important things to worry about, like truths, dares, and other such slumber party fun as games of spin the bottle and seven minutes in heaven. As her sisters whooped it up, Sam learned the true identity of the Red Devil before her untimely death. | | WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING: Sam may know who the killer is from her new, permanent residence in the makeout closet that is heaven, but viewers are hardly any closer to uncovering the murderer. "Here we are with a rapidly increasing body count, and not too many new clues," writes Bustle, before taking bets on Gigi and Dean as possible suspects. The New York Times weighed in on the particularly bloody episode with a sliver of optimism, questioning whether Sam may come back to take on the Red Devil. "She was never shown quite as definitively deceased as other victims have been, and I have vague hopes she's not dead after all, since I was fond of her," writes the recapper. Weren't we all, NYT, weren't we all. | | | | | | | | | | | | The Voice | | | NBC | | WHAT HAPPENED: Pack up your musket and call a truce: The Voice's Battle rounds are over. The head-to-head competitions came to a close on Tuesday night and saw the loss of six music hopefuls. Shelby Brown beat out Amanda Ayala to keep her spot on Team Adam, country duo Jubal and Amanda tipped their big hats to coach Pharrell Williams after getting beat out by Amy Vachal, and left with fellow Team Pharrell castoff Daria Jazmin, who lost to Darius Scott. Nadjah Nicole stayed on Team Blake over Cole Criske and Team Gwen's Summer Schappell beat Hanna Ashbroo, leading up to the big moment of the night. "It's between Team Blake's Emily Ann Roberts and Morgan Frazier, two blondes from Tennessee," writes EW recapper Ariel Kay. "It's meant to be the show's big finish, but some of the suspense is ruined by the fact that Pharrell still has one steal, and he has to use it. Both Emily Ann and Morgan are totally safe." | | WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING: And safe they were. "Pharrell got a chance to put that final steal to good use, picking up his first country artist in the history of the show," notes Refinery 29's recapper. As any Voice enthusiast knows, country singers are often a safe bet on the show, which counts Cassadee Pope, Danielle Bradbery, and Craig Wayne Boyd amongst its winners. TVLine now has equally high hopes for Morgan and her competitor Emily Ann, writing, "It wouldn't be a shock to see one or both of these country blondes last all the way to December." | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The Mindy Project | | | Hulu | | WHAT HAPPENED: The epic love story of Mindy and Danny took a backseat in Tuesday's episode of The Mindy Project to the bromance that is Danny and Morgan. The two embarked on a 3,000-mile road trip complete with family issues and adventures that would make even Crossroads era Britney Spears proud. Headed for California to visit his ill father, Danny tries to ditch Morgan, detours to meet a kid who could possibly be his son but isn't in the end, and throws a wrench in the plan when he gives said kid his car as a 16th birthday present. As EW recapper Danielle Zhu notes, Mindy finally does join the dude-heavy episode, calling Danny for satellite parental help with their son, Leo. | | WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING: While the arrival of Mindy is always a welcome addition, the episode gave Danny and Morgan the chance to shine. As Vulture writes, "It felt almost like the real Mindy was on maternity leave this week, except, of course, she isn't. Just taking a well-deserved break from carrying most scenes." | | | | | | | One More Thing... | | | | | The Agents Just Keep Getting Better | | | ABC | | INHUMANLY GOOD: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. aired its fourth episode Tuesday to much fanfare. EW recapper Chancellor Agard celebrated the show's "character-driven storytelling," while Vox highlighted the "razzle-dazzle" special effects and the "curious, emotional story being told about the fragility of human nature," before dubbing "Devils You Know" the "best episode of this third season." | | | | | | | Also Check Out... | | | | | | | | | | | | | Copyright © 2015 Entertainment Weekly and Time Inc.
